Regional Youth Board

Deep South Regional Youth Board - currently inactive, please contact Dawn Kelley, RS if you are interested in reinstituting this board

Mission: The Deep South Regional Youth Board strives to create an inclusive environment for the diverse members of clubs, in which all voices will be heard, with goals to promote healthy and useful skills in the ways of horsemanship, life and comradeship.

Officers:?

Goals:

  1. To encourage our clubs to participate in more service projects, teaching (mounted and unmounted) and fundraising
  2. Prepare the DSR members to embrace the many "real-world" qualities and opportunities that Pony Club provides
  3. Allow the members of our region to let their voices be heard and allow them to start giving back to the organization.

What is a RYB and why is it important?

  • A regional youth board forms strong inter-club/center friendships at an early age which is felt to be an important component in why older members stay involved
  • Regional Youth Boards consolidate upper level resources by providing former mainstays of the Pony Club program, such as peer-to-peer instruction
  • Some members are eager to serve the organization in leadership roles. Regional Youth Boards provide this opportunity for those who may be interested

Membership:

  • Requirements for membership

    • There is no limit to the number of members
    • There is no limit on how long a member can serve on the board

    • Board as a whole is responsible for brainstorming ways to get older pony club members more involved in planning and organizing regional events and creating fundraising ideas.
